Then, from Saturday 19th April, discover all the paintings brought together in a beautiful tiny Celtic church at Llanywern, near Lake Llangors.
The works are called West London Stations of the Cross. Artist Mark Cazalet said, “I felt it was essential to enact the drama within a walking radius of my Ladbroke Grove home.” Mark attended Chelsea and Falmouth Colleges of Art before being awarded scholarships in Paris and at MS University Baroda, West India. His large-scale glass and painted works for many ecclesiastical settings include Worcester, Manchester, and Chelmsford Cathedrals. The West London Stations of the Cross were painted in 1998 and 1999 for a special exhibition in the Diocese of Bury St Edmonds in Lent 2000.
Perspectives on the Passion – modern Easter paintings in Powys shops, cafes and pubs is a joint project of the Black Mountains Ministry Area & the Catwg Ministry Area of the Church in Wales with the New Library, Llantwit Major.
